A massage does not stop the moment I take my hands away. Take some time for yourself after the treatment; I give you the room for that and will not rush you out the door.
What is best to do
- Drink plenty of water, more than you normally would.
- Keep the rest of the day easy. A hard workout or a long drive straight after a massage is not a good idea.
- Stay warm. A sweater or a scarf afterwards feels better than stepping straight into the cold.
- Do not come on a full stomach and do not eat heavily right afterwards.
That feeling the next day
If you told me during the treatment where your complaints are, and I worked that area firmly, it can feel oversensitive for a short while afterwards. Some clients describe it as mild muscle ache, especially if they have not had a massage in a long time. That is normal and it does not last: after a day those symptoms are gone and you really notice what the massage has done.
What you should not feel is bruising or sharp pain. If that happens, please let me know. The pressure was then too high and I will adjust it next time. Better still, say so during the treatment: adjusting as we go is easier than hearing afterwards that it was too hard.
How often
That differs per person. People who come with a specific complaint often book two or three times with a week in between, and then move to maintenance, once a month for instance. People who mainly come for the calm of it pick their own rhythm. I do not push and I do not sell subscriptions.

Leaving a review
If you have been to see me, a review on Google helps me enormously. Do mention what you came in with and what it did – whether that was a neck that had locked up, sore muscles after sport, knots in the shoulders, or simply needing some quiet. Someone who is still deciding gets more out of that than out of stars alone. Leave a review on Google.
